The project involved the partial demolition of the former Gallery Hotel and adding new structural floors to the existing elements to create a striking addition to the exciting urban fabric along the Singapore River.
Over the course of the construction, the site condition constantly evolved as new structural fronts were opened while close proximity to existing residential and hospitality facilities posed further challenges to the operational manoeuvrability. Stakeholder management was crucial to ensure neighbouring facilities were not unduly affected by construction activities.
The project construction, fit-out and completion process was carefully orchestrated to merge with the dry-run and operational requirements of the hotel operator. The Project Management team’s hands-on approach at resolving issues in partnership with all the stakeholders was crucial at ensuring that the project was completed without incident.
Upon completion, the rejuvenated destination at the heart of the entertainment belt has become a landmark along the iconic river, and is one of the first steps towards the planned revitalisation of the Robertson Quay area. Ultimately, the Project Management team delivered a project worthy of the hotel’s five-star status through robust quality processes and systematic quality control.
