Singapore’s smart nation abilities on show in Guangxi
Singapore’s capabilities as a smart nation and business hub went on show at the 14th China-Asean Expo (CAEXPO) held in Nanning, Guangxi recently.
CAEXPO is an annual trade fair that promotes economic cooperation between ASEAN and China. The theme for Singapore’s pavilion was “Singapore – A Liveable and Sustainable City for Connectivity”, and Surbana Jurong put its infrastructure capabilities on display alongside other Singapore-based companies such as Sembcorp and Jurong Port.
Apart from showcasing the island’s smart features, strength in logistics and business connectivity, the pavilion also highlighted the close economic cooperation between Singapore and China. Government-to-government flagship projects such as the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city project (SSTEC) and the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Connectivity Initiative (CCI) were on display. Singapore has participated in CAEXPO since its inception in 2004. This year’s show ran from 11 to 14 September 2017.
