Surbana Jurong was recognised for its outstanding engineering design and quality recently at the annual ACES (Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore) awards. The Mechanical & Electrical Engineering team from Surbana Jurong earned the ACES Design Excellence Awards 2018 for its work on a high energy efficiency and reliability data centre for a company that supports utility services.
Surbana Jurong wowed the judges with its innovative and high-quality engineering solutions, including systems that regulate the temperature of the equipment, and a predictive maintenance software that improves manpower utilisation and minimises equipment downtime. The solutions led the data centre to exceed the target Power Utilisation Efficiency (PUE) rating set by the client.
Surbana Jurong has secured a contract to provide mechanical and electrical engineering services for seven KFC Myanmar restaurants across Yangon, Bago and Mandalay. The scope of work includes the engineering design of power distribution, general lighting, extra-low voltage system, air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation system, fire protection system, and plumbing works.
These projects mark the rapid expansion of the KFC fast-food restaurant chain in the Myanmar market, which opened its first store in June 2015 and targets to have 22 stores nationwide by end March 2018. KFC Myanmar is managed by Summit Brand Restaurant Group Limited, a subsidiary of Yoma Strategic Holdings Limited, which has a diversified portfolio of businesses in real estate, consumer, automotive and heavy equipment, and investments in Myanmar. Surbana Jurong looks forward to more opportunities to support Yoma Strategic Holdings in its expansion plans.
