Inland Rail Project
Upon completion, Inland Rail will provide a dedicated Melbourne to Brisbane freight rail link with a transit time of less than 24 hours.
Inland Rail will deliver approximately 1,700 km of new and upgraded track, helping to move freight transport off the congested road network and address Australia's long-term freight challenge. The project will also increase regional economic growth as it will connect key production areas in Queensland, New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria with export ports in Brisbane and Melbourne.
A joint venture of SMEC and Arup (SAJV) is providing Technical and Engineering Advisory services to the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) for the Inland Rail Project.
SAJV will provide a team of subject matter experts who will significantly bolster the resources of ARTC’s Inland Rail team in the delivery of approximately 1,700 km of new and upgraded track.
