Hanthawaddy International Airport

Hanthawaddy  International Airport  is expected to have an  initial capacity of 12  million passengers  per annum in Phase 1 and  increase to 30 million passenger per annum in Phase 2 , making it the largest airport  in Myanmar.

Once operational, the airport will  become the main international gateway  into Myanmar, particularly the Yangon metropolitan area.

Surbana Jurong’s design concept took  inspiration from the surrounding  natural landscape to create ‘an  Airport in the Park’. Various buildings and facilities surrounding the main Passenger Terminal building will be laid out in a modular configuration in a series of courtyards, functional clusters, and landscape features in  a ‘pavilion’ setting.
