Surbana Jurong signs MoU with Arctron Data & Innovation Technology
China, 31 May 2017 – Surbana Jurong has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Arctron Data & Innovation Technology Co., Ltd (ADIT) to jointly develop Facilities Management (FM) related software products based on Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology. The MOU was signed by Teo Eng Cheong, Chief Executive Officer International (Singapore, Southeast Asia, North Asia) of Surbana Jurong and Li Jia Jun, General Manager of ADIT, at the grand opening of ADIT in Shanghai.
ADIT is the newly established digital arm of Arcplus Group PLC, one of China’s most influential architectural design institutions, that has completed over 30,000 design and consulting projects worldwide. ADIT will spearhead the digital transformation of Arcplus Group and focus on research and integration of digital technology such as BIM, BIM FM, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing.
Under the MOU, Surbana Jurong and ADIT will collaborate to develop a BIM:FM software. ADIT will provide product development and technology support services while Surbana Jurong will contribute in FM domain knowledge. The developed technology will serve as an extension of the value chain from architecture, engineering and construction industry into the FM industry. It will also increase the productivity of FM managers. Digitising the FM processes through BIM:FM technology brings benefits to building owners in terms of cost saving for their long term building maintenance and operational cycle.
“The collaboration between Surbana Jurong and ADIT will put us ahead of the digital curve. The MOU is aligned with Surbana Jurong’s digital transformation to introduce digital tools across our services to raise productivity and performance of manpower-intensive businesses such as FM for our customers. Our sterling track record in managing operationally-ready facilities testifies to our capability and experience. We are excited to work with like-minded companies, such as ADIT, to complement and grow with us,” Mr Teo said.
“Digitisation is playing an increasingly important role in the construction industry. Digitising the operation and maintenance of buildings will greatly improve management efficiency, as well as save manpower and material resources. BIM technology-based FM will achieve the ultimate value of BIM technology and is the foundation of constructing intelligent buildings, parks and even smart cities. The collaboration between Surbana Jurong and ADIT is a win-win partnership that will take FM as key point and gradually expand to all aspects of digitising the engineering construction industry,” Mr Li said.
