Dr. Muthusamy KARTHIKEYAN has been trained in geotechnical engineering with more than 20 years of professional experience in research and consultancy in the topic of site investigation, seabed characterisation, ground improvement works, land reclamation, Polder design, seepage and slope stability, and embankment/dike construction.
Dr. Karthikeyan is the recipient of numerous awards, including the most prestigious international technical paper award bestowed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) – The C. A. Hogentogler Award in 2007 and the Best Research Paper Award from the Japanese Geotechnical Society in 2009. At present, he serves as the Singapore representative for the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) Technical Committees (TC – 217: Land Reclamation and TC 211 Ground Improvement). He has published and presented several technical papers in International Journals and Conferences.
