Treelodge@Punggol
The first public housing development in Singapore to achieve the Building & Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark Platinum award. Treelodge@Punggol is recognised for its environmentally friendly design, which maximises energy efficiency and reduces waste.
Not only does it have a beautiful landscape deck employed with hybrid green roof technology to reduce structural loading, it also has trees planted in the basement carpark that help to lower outdoor temperatures and a centralised chute for recyclable waste on every floor. The walls are made of concrete and foam, which decrease temperatures inside apartments and cut down the need for air-conditioning, thereby reducing electricity usage.
The project has also won international awards such as the Green Good Design Award 2010 and the FuturArc Green Leadership Award 2011.
