In the face of the global challenges of urbanization and food production, high-tech, systems based and resource efficient facilities such as the Floating Ponds will soon start to transform food production around the world.
TAN Yok Joo leads a team of architects and technical support staff. Under her leadership and guidance, the team is responsible for the pursuit and delivery of projects of varied scale and complexity – ranging from physical infrastructure development, institutional, commercial, to industrial, residential and hospitality. More recently, the team has put their wealth of knowledge into action in the Agricultural Food sector – integrating food processing, storage and food tourism for a food factory in Senoko, and a Food Distribution Centre for a local supermarket chain, just to name a few. Thus far, the team has successfully parlayed concepts of creativity, innovations & eco sustainability into high performance projects to achieve optimized design and efficient solutions. Many of these projects have attained awards from Singapore Institute of Architects, BCA Design & Green Mark Award, HDB Design Award, FutureArc Prize and World Architecture Festival (WAFX) Award for world’s most forward looking architectural concept.
