A green building is one that consumes as little resources, ideally it is self-sustaining, and does not take away the ability of future generations to sustain themselves

Mr Owen WEE joined Surbana Jurong in 2004 and has been involved in a wide range of international projects that ranges from master plans, public & private housing as well as institutional buildings. He is currently focusing on Zero Energy Buildings in the Tropics.

Owen has taken on the task to drive sustainable design in Surbana Jurong since 2008. He has been involved in more than 20,000 green homes since and his drive towards sustainability design and construction has already borne fruit with many projects obtaining higher green certifications. He also created a design guide and set minimum green targets for all projects.

He is a registered Green Mark Professional with the Building and Construction Authority. He sits on the board of the Singapore Green Building Council. He is also the Chairperson for Sustainable Material Certification.
